They sent my Steiff Bear From England with security sensor still on?
Your Open QuestionShow me another ยป
I found a Steiff bear I purchased from Harrods in London England years ago. We bought it for my bear collection but had them ship it to me. You know those annoying round rubber securty sensors with some sort of magnetic clip or whatever that needs some sort of gizmo to have it removed? Well there is one on his ear. I called local stores and none of them can remove it. No, a magnet won’t remove it. Harrods have not been helpful.
added detail: Already took the bear to dfferent stores that uses sensors and they don’t use the same ones this bear has.
When you collect bears, especially something as expensive as a Steiff mohair bear, you don’t cut into it.
More detail…I am a collector of bears…no self respecting bear collector would not know that stieff bears have pins in the one ear. Believe me, I am talking about a big ugly round rubber and metal securty sensor
Get a saw and cut it off. Or just leave it on and don’t worry about it.
edit: I’m not suggesting you cut the bear, silly. Got the plastic gizmo off with a thin bladed saw.

Bear, The $8.46 Jean-Jacques Annaud directed this unusual and compelling tale of animals in the wild, which tells its tale from the bears’ point of view. A pair of carefully-trained bruins deliver remarkably effective performances (aided by clever editing and, in some sequences, the use of realistic animated models). A infant bear cub (Douce the Bear) witnesses the death of his mother in a rockslide and is forced to set out to fend for himself. The young bear encounters a giant grizzly (Bart the Bear), who at first cannot abide the young bear’s presence. However, the grizzly is soon ambushed by a pair of hunters — Bill (Jack Wallace) and Tom (Tcheky Karyo) — after an altercation with their pack animals. As the injured beast cleans his wounds in a stream, the young bear comes to his aid, and the giant takes the youngster under his wing. However, Bill and Tom have sworn revenge on the grizzly, and when they capture the young bear, it lures the giant back into the hunters’ camp. L’Ours, released in English-speaking countries as The Bear, was based on the novel King Grizzly by James Oliver Curwood. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

Bear $8.49 Two young couples incur the wrath of a massive grizzly bear after their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. It was supposed to be a quick shortcut through the forest, but when the off-road driving takes its toll on the car, the frustrated passengers realize they’re stuck for the night. After night falls, a massive grizzly bear emerges from the surrounding forest, and is hastily shot. But this bear wasn’t alone; she had a mate, and now he’s hungry for revenge. As the bear prepares to attack, the frightened travelers lock themselves in the car. Before long, the grizzly is taking apart the car piece-by-piece. It’s only a matter of time before he gets in, and when he does, it’s all over. Later, as long buried secrets begin to resurface, everyone realizes that people can be just as vicious and brutal as nature’s most fierce predators. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi |

Brother Bear $13.59 In the Disney-animated adventure Brother Bear, Joaquin Phoenix provides the voice of Kenai, a young Native American boy whose brother, Sitka (voice of D.B. Sweeney), is killed by a mother bear protecting her cubs. With revenge in mind, Kenai sets out into the woods only to find himself magically transformed into a bear himself. Seeing the world through the eyes of his prey, Kenai is forced to learn a lesson about nature and life. On a comic footnote: Brother Bear also features the voices of Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as Rutt and Tuke, moose characters reminiscent of their beer-guzzling McKenzie brothers from SCTV and Strange Brew; because this is a family-oriented cartoon – and it would be inappropriate for the moose to quaff beer — the two moose express a fondness for eating wheat hops instead. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi stands for love. Then, through a series of events, he is transformed into a bear. Kenai must brave the wild, with only a little bear-cub brother, Koda (Jeremy Suarez), to guide him. In their travels, Kenai and Koda meet a couple of hilarious moose (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) who provide comic relief to this otherwise heartrending family tale. |
